A solo show of recent work by the internationally recognized and technically brilliant artist Tom Wood. Known for his imaginative and allusive abstract approach to painting, this exhibition will pay homage to his love for the natural world.

Tom Wood graduated from Sheffield School of Art in 1978 and has since exhibited widely. He is well known for his portraits, notable sitters have included amongst others, Professor Lord Robert Winston and Alan Bennett, both commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, London. Other prominent commissions have included portraits for HRH Prince of Wales, The National Trust, Yale University and Cambridge University.

He was visiting Professor of Fine Art at Leeds University and is a Fellow of Sheffield Hallam University. He worked in Hong Kong as Art Adviser for The English Schools Foundation and was a featured artist in the BBC 'Star Portraits' arts programme in which he painted the actress Barbara Windsor. On his return from Hong Kong he was one of the artists who developed the Redbrick Art Academy in Batley which is now both his studio and venue for his much prized art courses.

Tom is a versatile and gifted artist whose work is represented in many public and private collections.
