Emily Sutton - is a York based artist and illustrator with an international audience. Her work is influenced by the Yorkshire landscape and countryside, as well as the peculiar, curious and wonderful objects often discovered in antique shops, museums and galleries. Sutton studied at York College, then completed her BA in Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art in 2008. Sutton works with a range of different mediums such as painting, prints, drawing and hand sculpted objects. She has notably been commissioned by various distinguished clients such as Hermes, Betty’s Tearooms, and Penguin. Sutton has also illustrated for numerous children’s books by Nicola Davis and the V&A commissioned “Clara Button and the Magical Hat Day” by Amy de la Haye, amongst many others. In 2014-2015 Emily Sutton’s largest solo exhibition Town and Country was displayed at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
