Angie Lewin

Angie Lewin specialises in watercolours, illustration, wood engraving, linocuts and screen prints creating limited edition prints, designing screen printed fabrics and wallpapers, and illustrated books.

Lewin studied BA Fine Art Printmaking at St. Martin’s College of Art and Design followed by a postgraduate degree in printmaking at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. After working as an illustrator in London, Lewin studied Horticulture and moved to Norfolk finding inspiration in the saltmarshes of the North Norfolk coast and its magnificent landscape. Now living in Scotland, Lewin contrasts the two environments and landscapes through her meticulous attention to detail working across different mediums.

Leslie Geddes-Brown, author of ‘Garden Wisdom’, of which Lewin illustrated, describes the artist by stating; “She sees the beauty in all seasons and all manifestations of plants: the ordered pattern of the blooms, the thrusting energy of the emerging buds, the prolific seedheads and the varieties of shapes, colours and habits to be found in meadow and border.”

Lewin has been featured in Ceramic Review, Sunday Times and Country Living magazine and she has been commissioned by Faber, Penguin and Liberty London. She has exhibited at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh, Cambridge Contemporary Art and Sarah Wiseman Gallery in Oxford.
